Thwaite Head Mist
Thwaite Head Mist
Thwaite Head Mist original landscape painting
This painting was created in 2008 during a period of many visits to the English lake district in Cumbria.
Thwaite Head is a tiny hamlet which holds a special place in Mcbride's heart because it is a great base for walking the fells of the south lakes area.
The painting is mixed media and has been part of the McBride's collection for several years now and it will be sadly missed when it is sold because it is one his first forays into using washed sand as a textured basis of his landscape paintings.
The profusion of scumbled paint adds an extra dimension to the artwork particularly when the texture is highlighted by strong side lighting.
