There is a particular kind of stillness to a misty morning — the world half-revealed, held in a breath before the day begins. It was that feeling that stopped me in my tracks during my early career as an Art Director in Cheshire, driving into the low winter sun as mist lifted slowly from the meadows. I pulled over. I stared. I couldn't help it.

That moment never left me. Decades later, it lives in this painting.
