I love to find new, energised, ways of painting crowds of people.

With this piece I built up layers of texture and colours then gradually introduced these purple coloured people as I found them emerging from the background.

Rich, dark purples and contrasting lilacs create depth as figures emerge from layered, tactile surface. The limited colour palette adds brevity to the unfolding event.

This square canvas invites closer inspection, rewarding you with interesting details and atmosphere, particularly as the ambient light hits the painted surface.
